This is the Atactical “A1” sent to me for review and NO other compensation other than keeping the light. You can find the light at any of the following links……..
 (ALL links are NON afilliated)

Amazon United State : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBKWBU8/(link is external)

I was also asked to mention that Atactical will be giving away a free light by randomly picking up winners from thier Amazon reviews. Follow the outcome on Facebook or official website to see the outcome of the giveaway.

Now on to the main topic here……….

ATACTICAL is a new company with only a couple of products at the moment , but that may be changing very soon the way it is looking to start shaping up. This A1 is priced at the time of this review at $19.99 on the Amazon site , which makes it a budget friendly light. Atactical is working through / with ThruNite on the testing and advice of these products so I feel the quality should be there , as it is at least with this particular light. The A1 “S” model is in the making with double the lumens and a XP-L V6 emitter , so it may be one to watch also.

I covered most everything in the video portion of the review but I will mention highlights here for anyone not wanting to watch the whole review video.
The A1 is a well built light with good anodizing , smooth threads that were well lubed , and no sharp edges or noticeable mill marks and such. It also comes with the USB rechargeable cell and has the charging cord included with the rest of the package.
The light has Low/Medium/High/Turbo and SOS modes , that are changed by using the side switch on the light , with a hidden strobe that is accessed from any mode by simply holding the side switch down for about 1/2 to 1 full second and then a quick click to exit the strobe. The tail switch is used for momentary on or to turn the light on and off only. There is also a low Voltage indicator built in and the light will blink twice periodically , when the voltage starts getting low on the cell. The lens is AR coated and the reflector on the sample I recieved is very smooth and clean. The side switch is metallic with a coating of what looks like either powder coat or anodizing , but I cant say for certian on that. The XP-G2 emitter is well centered and the beam is fairly tight , but has decent coverage and no visible rings or artifacts that I have noticed in normal use.
The A1 and the ThruNite TC12 V2 are very very close in design , with only a few slight differences , so it could be that ThruNite had a hand in helping design this light also. I guess it could be speculated that this is a budget version of the ThruNite product even. Either way the quality of the light for the current price of $19.99 makes this a very good deal IMO and well worth a look for anyone who might be interested.

For those who don’t want to watch the whole video , the still shots , teardown and beamshots start at 5:47 in the timeline and the live footage outside with comparison to the Throfire VG10 and the ThruNite TC12 V2 , starts at 9:44 in the time line. As usual I will mention that the still beamshots are much more true to life than what my cheap video camera shows.

Glad to do it JM.
It is an exceptional light for the price point. With them working with ThruNite we could see some great lights coming from Atactical at really good prices in the future.
