guess what emitter I'll be putting in this new (1950's) light.

This should be a fun project. I don't have the light yet though. I just bought it from evil bay. For $20 it looks like it should make a nice host.

Not that it's hard to guess what emitter I'll be putting in, but I thought I would try and catch your attention. As I move forward I'll update this thread with the build. I might even get the ambition to post pics along the way.

You have my attention. it looks like a large one? Do you think you will keep the reflector or just gut the whole thing?
When the big picture is to big, look for a point you can start at and build from there.

The light is supposed to be chrome plated brass. I have an experimental BLF DD 17mm Side switch driver that I want to try out.

The simple way to go would be to simply use 2x32650 for a single MT-G2 and leave the reflector. But chances are I'll end  up trying another triple.  ;D

Yep I'm liking the MT-G2's tint a lot.

Worse comes to worse, you can do a retro upgrade to modern w/ minimal hacking/modding

https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/b-series/

Make sure you select the right voltage

P.S.  Those flanged bulbs also work in Maglights too, not as bright initially on fresh batteries, but will maintain the brightness much longer because it runs at a constant output unlike a incandescent bulb that runs bright w/ fresh batteries then dims as they discharge

I actually have couple of spares around that I pulled out of a maglite, but not much chance that I'll be using them anytime soon. Still those are pretty cool for an easy switch for old lights.

Haven't visited TFF in a while but this caught my eye. Any progress on the build?

Nope just got bogged down with a bunch of other projects but in a way that might have been a good thing. Now I'm considering putting in one of the new XHP70 emitters.
