Title: Klarus xt11gt battery
Post by: Hozerdozer on November 04, 2016, 02:02:33 AM
I'm looking for a backup battery for a klarus xt11gt I have ordered. Pretty new to the high end flashlight arena. Is it necessary to run a protected battery? Can I use a flat top 18650?

Welcome to the TFF family, Hozerdozer!  I don't have an XT11GT (might in the near future) so I can't answer for sure but if it's really a tactical light, and not in just name only, it should have springs in both ends so flat topped cells should work.  If you have a soldering iron you can always add solder buttons to the cell(s) if it doesn't work.  That's what I do as I prefer to buy flat topped cells.

I have this klarus xt11gt 2000 lumen light (https://theeffectiveguide.com/klarus-xt11gt-review/). I am using 18650 batteries with it. So, You can use. But, you need to use protected 18650 Li-ion batteries.

It's a good idea. Which made me think what to do next.
