Title: How do you make FIRE ?
Post by: jacktheclipper on August 09, 2013, 02:54:12 PM
I usually always carry a disposible butane lighter or two close by , but for emergency or survival situations I have experimented with making fire with flint and steel and a bow drill . ( I am glad I don't have to use primitive tecniques ! )

What sort of fire-making apparatus do you carry ?

at work?  oxy propane seems to work well 8)

I generally have a lighter in my edc gear but I might add a flint and steel, I don't often have to make fire, generally when I do, its planned and I have what is necessary.

what would be a good idea would be some cotyon wool, cellophane wrapped in one of your stash fobs so you have tinder.

I always carry a lighter on my person.  Either a butane jet lighter or occasionally an oil lighter.  I prefer butane as oil lighters tend to evaporate quicker than expected and fail when you need them the most.

I taught my son there are three things every man must have on him at all times. A blade, a flashlight, and a magic fire box.
