2D magalike

i wanna LED convert my 2D magalike. i tried the "drop in" and discovered it was less than useless. i will be running 2s 26650 in it (i know long C). this is going to be my dog walking torch so need a balance between flood and throw. will get some measurements tomorrow. need some ideas wrt to emitter/s driver and reflector

If I ever do another 2D mag I'll be using the same 6AA batt carrier as I made last time, I really liked that setup (plus I could swap between 6AA in a carrier and 2x 65mm Li-ion by swapping the cells, nothing else had to be done). You could use an LD-29 to accomplish this (wide input for either option)

I got about 650Lm but I was using a very low output bin XM-L2 (S6 7D3, 2900k, 90+ CRI but at about 50% less lumens than a U2). When I sold it I switched it to a CW at the buyers request and it was doing >1100 and I believe 35kcd (dome on). It really would of been nice with an AR beam and the factory focus mechanism still worked so the beam could be changed on the fly for a wide variety of uses. Probably would of done 80k with a dedome and AR lens.
