How to remove wood smoke smell off a flashlight

Hi guys!

I use my flashlights around a camping fire as well, and there is absolutely no way of getting around the smell it comes with it. Now what I do is just clean the flashlights with water, it does shorten the time for the smell to eventually dissapear but it's still damn unpleasent to wait for it. Does anyone find themselves in a similar situation and has a different more efficient approach?

I haven't had that issue more than a couple times but I find that any dirt or smell on a light is easily removed with dish soap, warm water, and a sponge.  I just wash the light like any utensil or glass.

Smelly flashlight had not yet been an issue to me, but I agree that cleaning it would do the trick. However, we should be careful with the battery areas and other steel part to avoid contamination and defects on internal parts

Never tried it on a flashlight (or smoke) but a rag sprayed well with Febreeze gets rid of the smell of lots of things. I just spray the rag or cloth and wipe down whatever it is that may smell bad and usually it takes care of most of the smell.

Just get some lemon juice out of fridge.
Or quarter one.
Wipe it over light.
No more smells.
Works on just about everything.
even if you lose power and fish goes off in fridge for 2 months (Don't ask)
The lemon and boiling water down the tubes fixed it.
Was a 3 month old fridge. Still using.

   I'd give it to my dog who is great at finding and irritating skunks, and I'd guarantee the smoke smell would be gone!!  Very easy and it's better if you are not around when it happens!! LOL
